Introduction

Chandranath Shakthi Peeth is the place where Devi Sati’s right arm fell. Here Devi is worshipped as Bhawani and Lord Shiva as Chandrashekar (the one who has the moon as the crown).

Location

Chandranath Shakthi Peeth is located on top of Chandranath hill near Sitakund station, Chottogram, Chittagong district, Bangladesh. The temple is situated at a distance of 24 kms from Chittagong. Regular trains and buses are available to reach the temple from Dhaka and other nearby cities. Nearest airport is the Shah Amanat International airport and the international airport at Kolkatta.

There is also a hot water spring about 5 kms to the north of Sitakund.

Other places of tourist interest

Vidarshanaram Vihara, a botanical garden and eco park are other tourist attractions. There is also a pond named “Varav” which is ever engulfed in fire. Fire comes from the rocks situated nearby.

Festivals and Fairs

In the Bengali month of Falgun (Feb- March), a fair called as Shiva Chaturdashi Fair is held. Shivaratri is celebrated in a big way at the temple.
